I Don’t Pay For These Jars
One day at Faith Acres we gave one of our “guests” some extra fruit. The fruit was going to go bad if we did not get it used up right away. She came back a week later with jams for us. Her jam tasted amazing! We enjoyed the fact that it had a lot less sugar than most store bought jams.
Two weeks later we gave this same woman some more fruit that was soft and ready to be eaten right away. She came back the next week with more jams for us.
I was so impressed by her initiative; I asked her if she wanted to be one of our volunteers here at Faith Acres. She could come each week and get any of the fruit that was overripe and ready to be made into jams. She would still be one of our “guests” and get food for her family while helping us help more people by just doing what she loved to do cook and make jams!
I even told her Faith Acres would purchase the jars for her. She said, “No, I don’t pay for these jars, I play a game each day online and earn points from a large chain store. I earn points for products and have been able to get birthday and Christmas gifts for my children. The brand new pants I donated here last week, I got those for free too!”
